I have a few more living things to get over here tonight, but by and large I am here now. I still have to do my whole kitchen, and I have to start setting up all of this crap, but I can at least sleep here tonight.

But I have to get going now because my phone just rang and I have to go get some OT at work now.

How's that for a news flash?

I have boxes strewn from one end of my apartment to the other. I am going to be getting my computer over to the house today and my clothes and bed tomorrow so I will be in fact living there tomorrow night. Then I just have to put up with my parents for a week or so until they leave for Alaska and points north.

The joyful thing is I get to look forward to moving again in three months when the come back. Fuckin' Whee!

My bread machine shit itself a little while ago and was basically overcooking every loaf, so I started using it as basically a dough machine. I took the heap back and now I've decided to buy a Kitchenaid stand mixer.


I'm fzcking nuts! This thing is $400. But it's sooooo cool! And I can make 6 loaves of bread at a time instead of just one.... (Cath, you're going to have to come over and help me out with some of that!) Cookie dough will be really easy now... just wait till little Maren can eat them!

So can anyone please explain to me what the hell I need a honkin 450 watt commercial stand mixer for? Honestly? I need a little help justifying that to myself.

Good news from work!

I talked to the overlord and almighty ruler of my department for Western Canada today...

It's a bit convoluted how the reporting relationships work in the World of Orange. I am the king and ruler of my department. no-one even messes with me - the store manager and all the assistant managers are intimidated by the department because it has it's own everything - different reports, different business. there is even a physical barrier - because we have gasoline in the building, we have to have a firewall between us and the main store. people walk to the door and then stop like there is a forcefield or something. It's amusing to watch. So anyways, I am responsible to my Assistant store manager first off. Except when it comes to spending money or on profitability matters, where I am responsible directly to the store manager. And then I am also responsible to the alberta Pro sales Manager, but he honestly dosen't seem interested by tool rentals, so he's out of it unless his boss has put his balls on a chopping block. Then there is Brent. He is responsible for every rental centre in all of western canada. He makes or breaks me in my evil plan to get promoted and begin taking over the world. He and I get along great because we are both shit disturbers at heart - we love stirring the pot. So I called him today to get some more tools ordered - business is booming! - and I got some good news! In the quarter that just ended on may 1st, I am the only rental centre in southern alberta that is achieving their planned sales goals, and I am also number 1 in western canada in special order sales! I rock! I kick ass! I am the king!

And then in other news, one of the assistant store managers came up to me last week and told me to basically keep doing what I am doing - people are noticing. The right people. Good deal since I only got promoted in October! I could be up for another BIG bump up in as little as 6 more months! Wow.

And now it looks like it's about to start raining. Of course it is going to rain, since it is my weekend off. I wanna take my new thing out!
